EPH Bomb

We conceived and brewed EPH Bomb collaboratively with Unfiltered Brewing from Halifax, Nova Scotia. EPH Bomb is eighth in a series of beers Beau’s will brew with friends across the nation to honour Ottawa 2017, a year-long celebration of Canada’s 150th birthday. A portion of proceeds from sales will go to Parker Street Food & Furniture Bank (http://parkerstreet.org).
History & Style:
The Northeast I.P.A. is a hazy, juicy, upstate-meets-downeast take on a classic British style, the India Pale Ale. Intensified, it’s a D.I.P.A. (Double I.P.A.), which means bigged up in both strength and hop character. Our version employs both piney, citrusy Azzaca and some New Zealand Wai-iti for a bright, tropical hop character.
Tasting Notes:
EPH Bomb pours hazy gold with a billowy white foam. The aroma offers pungent grapefruit pith, pine and papaya. The flavour imparts fruity sweetness that is balanced by a medium bitterness and a mild alcohol warmth. The finish is long and resinous.
Food Pairings:
BBQ pork ribs with a spiced brown sugar & pineapple glaze, salt-cured charcuterie meats, Gorgonzola or sharp cheddar cheeses.
