Parliament of Trees was conceived and brewed collaboratively with Rheostatics, the Canadian music scene’s iconoclastic icons. Parliament of Trees is ninth in a series of beers Beau’s will brew with friends across the nation to honour Ottawa 2017, a year-long celebration of Canada’s 150th birthday. A portion of proceeds from sales will go to Lake Ontario Waterkeeper (waterkeeper.ca).

History & Style:

Seasonally inspired, the autumn warmer evokes the sensory experience of smoky campfires, big piles of leaves, and all things dry and crackly when the summer fades away. A portion of the pale ale malts were smoked using oak, hickory and cherrywood chips. A snippet of lyrics from Rheostatics song Northern Wish, we agreed Parliament of Trees was a fine name for this beer.

Tasting Notes:

Parliament of Trees pours deep mahogany with an off-white foam. The aroma evokes campfire and is nuanced by a whiff of caramel sweetness. The flavour is layered with notes of raisiny, plummy fruit, dark malt, caramel and smoke. The finish is long and malty.

Jambalaya, smoked blue cheese, bread pudding.
