“Farm Table: Pils” Apple & Gouda Grilled Cheese
This grilled cheese, with the sweet apple & mild Gouda, picks up nicely on the malt notes in the beer. The moderate hoppiness in the finish of the beer will also match well with the apple butter.

4 servingsIngredients
4 oz apple butter
2 tbsp Beau’s Farm Table: Pils
8 slices artisan sourdough bread
2 C Gouda cheese, grated (e.g. Thunder Oak Gouda)
1 unpeeled apple (macintosh or granny smith)
2 tbsp unsalted butter
Directions
Preheat an electric griddle to 350 F, or a frying pan to medium heat. In a bowl, mix together the apple butter & beer. Lay out the 8 slices of bread, then brush each slice with some of the apple butter and beer mix, dividing it evenly between the 8 slices.
Slice the apple thinly, and place a layer of apple on 4 of the slices of bread. Top the apple slices with the cheese, then place on the top layer of bread.
Add the butter to the pan and allow to melt completely. Add the sandwiches to the pan and cook for 4 minutes or until lightly browned. Gently turn the sandwich over & cook another 4 minutes.
Remove from the pan, cut in half & serve with green salad with mustard vinaigrette, and a glass of Beau’s Farm Table: Pils.
