Party Line
Blonde Imperial Stout • 9.0% • -Looks can be deceiving. Party Line gives the appearance of a blonde ale, but with the signature robust aroma and flavour of a stout. This imperial-strength ale is cold-aged with star anise, chicory, cacao nibs and Fairtrade Peruvian ‘Apu del Norte’ coffee from our friends at Bridgehead.
History & Style
Known for its strong alcohol content and roasted malt character, the imperial stout was first brewed in the 18th century in England for export to Russia. Like most stouts, the imperial stout is also traditionally known for its dark colour. Party Line defies tradition, with its deceptive blonde appearance but true stout taste. Could it have something to do with the Bridgehead coffee and cacao nibs? It just might.
Tasting Notes
Party Line pours deep gold with a white foam. There are coffee and cacao notes in the aroma with herbal undertones. Coffee and cacao are also pronounced in the flavour. A slight licorice note adds to the complexity as well as earthy tones. The finish is long and rich.
