Two award-winning beers from Brasserie Beau’s now available in Québec
Spring seasonal India Pale Ale “Beaver River” and milk stout “The Tom Green Beer!” are the newest offerings from local, certified organic craft brewery
VANKLEEK HILL – (Apr 10, 2015) Brasserie Beau’s has made two of their award-winning beers available for the first time in Québec, beginning this week: Beaver River IPA, and The Tom Green Beer! Milk Stout. These beers will be available for sale beginning this weekend on draft and in bottles at select craft-friendly locations in Gatineau, Montréal, and Québec City, as well as some smaller locations in between.
Beaver River is an assertive yet-very-drinkable India Pale Ale that marries the typical flavour profiles of the British and American interpretations of this hoppy beer style. Beaver River won Gold at the Canadian Brewing Awards in both 2011 and 2013. The 5.6% IPA is unfiltered to allow a full spectrum of bready malt and caramel flavours to come through, and it is dry-hopped to further amplify the bold-yet-balanced citrusy and earthy hop aromas. Weighing in at 60 IBUs (International Bitterness Units), this year’s hop blend showcases Cascade, Pacific Gem and Magnum varieties. First brewed by Beau’s in 2008, Beaver River was named in honour of the “Rivière Castor” in Eastern Ontario.
The Tom Green Beer! Milk Stout is a dark, creamy and satisfying variety of stout beer, created as a collaboration between Beau’s All Natural Brewing and Canadian actor and comedian Tom Green. The Tom Green Beer! was voted the winner of the Collaboration Nation competition at Session Craft Beer Festival in Toronto in 2013, when it was first released. The aroma of this milk stout is a complex array of roasted malt characters, featuring notes of espresso, chocolate and a controlled smokiness. Roasted elements also dominate the flavour, but give way to subtleties such as hints of caramel and nut. Initially dry on the palate, the beer finishes with a gentle flourish of body and sweetness. The result is a flavourful, robust, yet still quite sessionable 5% ABV stout.
Like all Brasserie Beau’s beers, Beaver River and The Tom Green Beer! are certified organic. A list of places to find these new beers in Québec (as well as other Brasserie Beau’s beer, including the flagship Lug Tread Lagered Ale) is available on the Brasserie Beau’s website: http://beaus.ca/fr/ou-nous-trouver.
