Beau’s brings back ceramic bottles of Lug Tread for its 10th birthday

Beau’s All Natural is releasing a special gift this summer for long-time fans of the local craft brewery. Its flagship Lug Tread lagered ale will begin hitting LCBO shelves early next week, in collector’s edition 750 ml decorated ceramic bottles. Intended to celebrate Beau’s 10th birthday on July 1, the run is limited to 15,000 bottles, and are expected to sell out quickly.

The ceramic is a throwback to the popular format that Beau’s first launched Lug Tread into the LCBO with in 2008. Each bottle was filled and capped by hand, which became a challenge as the popularity of the award-winning flagship beer grew. Once a bottling line was purchased, Beau’s replaced the ceramic with the now-familiar 4-pack of 600 ml bottles. Beau’s co-founder Steve Beauchesne says to this day, he’s frequently asked about bringing them back.

“We’re super-excited to be able to do this for the people who have been asking,” says Beauchesne. “People have held onto the original bottles for years, and love to send us pictures of them. Mainly as decorations, but I’ve seen them as flower vases, to pour olive oil … converted into lamps too!”

LCBO shoppers can expect to start seeing the ceramics of Lug Tread pop up in stores starting Monday. They will be available at stores throughout the province, and retail for $9.85. The ceramics will also be available beginning today directly from the Beau’s retail shop in Vankleek Hill, or for home delivery in Ottawa through BYBO (www.bybo.ca).
