Happy 10th birthday Beau’s! Local brewery celebrates on July 2

Local craft brewery Beau’s All Natural will be turning 10 this July, and will be celebrating the special occasion with a birthday party in Vankleek Hill. The party will be held Saturday July 2, and will be two-part: a daytime family-friendly event from 11 am – 6 pm at the brewery, and an evening party from 6:30 pm on with live music at The Windsor, a locals-favourite tavern in town. Round-trip buses for out-of-town guests are available from Ottawa and Montréal.

In addition to birthday cake, music and fun activities, Beau’s has brewed up three special beers to be tapped at the 10th birthday celebrations. “Batch 5000” is the official five-thousandth batch brewed by Beau’s, and is a wild Ontario farmhouse ale, made with Ontario wheat, Ontario-grown hops, and fermented with Ontario wild yeast. Two new collaborative beers made with Kissmeyer Beer and Gigantic Brewing will also be flowing. Kissmeyer collab “Old Skål” is an oud bruin, a Belgian-style brown ale characterized by mild tartness – it was brewed with Anders Kissmeyer in October 2012, and was aged 40 months. “Two Tonnes of Fun” long-boil American barleywine was brewed in October 2015 at Beau’s with Portland’s Gigantic Brewing.

Tim, Steve and the Beauchesne family and friends will be on hand at the brewery during the day to greet and chat with guests. “Looking back, I would have to say that starting a craft brewery was certainly one of my better ideas,” laughs Tim Beauchesne, who co-founded Beau’s with his son Steve in 2006. “And the fact that we’ve been able to do this as a family is a bonus. This is a perfect time to reflect on the fruits of the last 10 years, and at the same time, think about where we are headed in the next decade too.”

The daytime brewery event is free to attend, and includes complimentary tours and tastings. Funds will be raised that day for Centraide/United Way Prescott-Russell. The evening event at the Windsor (84 Main St. E) has a $5 cover – prize giveaways will take place throughout the evening, and entertainment includes the band Audio Visceral, fronted by Beau’s own Steve Beauchesne.

Round-trip bus tickets from Ottawa and Montréal are available online for guests who want to come celebrate Vankleek Hill-style. The $10 bus ticket price includes a free birthday souvenir from Beau’s, an embroidered tractor patch.
