Beau’s Brewmaster Matthew O’Hara and Denmark’s itinerant brewer Anders Kissmeyer have teamed up again to create Old Skål, a tart, fruit-infused and barrel-aged brown ale. This limited-edition beer was created to say “Cheers!” (Skål in Danish) to Beau’s 10th Birthday. Raise a glass and help us celebrate 10 great years!

History & Style
Oud Bruin is a style of beer that originates in the Flanders region of Belgium, typically aged for a long period and fermented with wild yeast and bacteria. Dates, maple syrup and a residency in pinot noir barrels have added complexity to this collaborative creation, which was brewed during Beau’s Oktoberfest in 2012.
Pours mahogany with a thin white foam. The aroma is an enticing medley of red wine, sour cherry and a faint nuttiness. The flavour is tart with tannic cherry notes and a hint of hazelnut. The finish is dry with residual oaky wine notes.
Rich blue cheeses like Bleu L’Ermite or Bleu D’Élizabeth, chèvre, croque monsieur, duck breast with sour cherries, carbonade flamande (Flemish stew).
