We raised $91,432 for community & charity at the 11th Beau’s Oktoberfest!

beau's oktoberfest main stage

More than 18,000 festival-goers came to Vankleek Hill over the two days (September 20 and 21) of Beau’s Oktoberfest 2019. In addition to celebrating Bavarian culture, craft beer and community, Beau’s Oktoberfest is the annual signature fundraising event for local craft brewery Beau’s. This was the 11th annual edition of the event, which has now contributed an incredible sum of $802,644 to scores of local and national charity and community groups.
The funds raised – which greatly exceeded the annual target of $75,000 – will greatly benefit the United Way of Eastern Ontario, Hidden Harvest, and Ottawa Riverkeeper, as well as numerous local service clubs and community groups who got involved and loaned helping hands to the event.
The mainstage entertainment featured headlining acts The New Pornographers on Friday and Shad on Saturday, as well as Canadian independent artists Jenn Grant, Neon Dreams, Caravane, Birds of Bellwoods, John Jacob Magistery, and What if Elephants. The mainstage was hosted by Canadianity creators and podcasters Jeremy Taggart and Jonathan Torrens, with daytime entertainment from Canada’s Polka King Walter Ostanek. More than 15 additional bands entertained on the Black Forest Stage, headlined by two all-female bands: Mobina Galore, and Pale Lips. The musical line-up was once again made up of 100% Canadian acts.
The festival served up 14 Beau’s beers on tap, alongside seasonally inspired culinary creations from 19 local restaurants.
Beau’s Oktoberfest will return next year for a 12th edition, with dates to be announced in 2020.
