Strong Patrick (aka, Fierce Patrick, to our American friends) is luscious and malty, with toasty caramel and toffee notes complemented by whiskey flavours and alcohol warmth. Part of each batch has been aged in whiskey barrels, then reintroduced to add subtle wood and vanilla nuances. This Irish Red Ale is well rounded and balanced, with a pleasant overall character.

HISTORY & STYLE:
Beau’s Brewmaster Matthew O’Hara shows his roots with this barrel-accented interpretation of an Irish Red Ale. Strong Patrick’s red hue is the result of the addition of organic roasted barley to the assorted malts and pilgrim hops. At 6.7% ABV, this is Beau’s intensified version of the classic style from the Emerald Isle.
Strong Patrick pours a brilliant red with a creamy head. Its aroma conjures notes of caramel, whiskey, oak and malts. This Irish-style ale has a malty backbone, with a touch of toasty caramel and vanilla, and a mild bitterness to even it out. A warming alcohol presence complements the rich finish.
Traditional style lamb stew, shepherd’s pie, firm goat cheese, warm corned beef with steamed root vegetables, gingerbread with applesauce, shortbread.
