Beau’s launches British-style E.S.B. in 473 ml cans

Beau’s latest, E.S.B., is a flavourful, approachable ale – expect biscuity malt and slight fruity notes, along with a touch of sweetness

Beau’s Brewing Co. will launch its E.S.B. this week in Ontario and Québec as a seasonal release. This flavourful, approachable 5.6 % ale offers up a mellow harmony of biscuity malt and slight fruity notes, along with a touch of sweetness. It will be sold in 473 ml cans throughout both provinces, as well as served up on tap at craft-friendly restaurants and pubs.

E.S.B. is an English-style pale ale that pours copper with a tight white foam. Even though E.S.B. stands for Extra Special Bitter, Beau’s Brewmaster Matthew O’Hara notes that the style is actually renowned for achieving great balance of malt sweetness and hop bitterness. The Beau’s version of this classic is made with an eye to both authenticity and sustainability, brewed with organic malts and roasted barley, organic Goldings hops and English ale yeast. It is best served in a nonic glass at 6-8 C. O’Hara suggests pairing E.S.B. with British pub staples such as a vegetarian cauliflower and potato curry, shepherd’s pie, or steak and kidney pie.

Thursday November 1 is the official release date for E.S.B. in the Beau’s Tap Room in Vankleek Hill, ON, and for home delivery in Ottawa through BYBO.ca. The 473 ml cans, featuring label art that give a nod to the iconic and quirky history of British motoring, will be popping up at retailers across both provinces all this week.
