Beau’s is a proud environmental steward and leader in sustainable craft brewing.
Our Purchasing Policy
Beau’s is committed to being socially and environmentally responsible when choosing suppliers and purchasing from them. We have implemented a purchasing policy that reflects this commitment.
Beau’s is committed to giving preference to goods and services provided by local and independent businesses, over those produced more distantly. We have done this to support and improve our local economy, and to reduce the environmental impact of transportation. Beau’s will also give preference to suppliers that use low impact transport.
At the same time, we acknowledge that certain goods may have limited local availability, requiring us to look outside the local community. Additionally, some suppliers with higher social and environmental standards may take precedence over local ones, and we may choose suppliers in poor and vulnerable areas in order to effect positive change.
Beau’s will give preference to working with suppliers who are majority owned by women, ethnic minorities, people with disabilities, or individuals living in low or moderate income communities.
Supplier Code of Conduct
We require our suppliers to meet the principles of our Supplier Code of Conduct in order to ensure that they provide safe working conditions; that workers are treated fairly and with dignity; and that manufacturing processes are environmentally responsible. Beau’s uses Social Accountability International’s SA8000, an auditable social certification standards document, to hold our suppliers accountable. Examples of these standards include (but are not limited to): health and safety, discrimination policy, child labour policy, working hours policy, & remuneration policy.
