Week 3 of Beau’s feBREWary serves up new Farm Table: Pils

Farm Table Series “North German Style Pilsner” delivers classic grain and herbal aromas, and a clean malt flavour balanced by a snappy hop bite

(VANKLEEK HILL – Feb. 16, 2016) Beau’s has brewed up a new addition to the sessionable, true-to-style Farm Table Series for Week 3 of feBREWary. Farm Table: Pils (North German Style Pilsner) will be tapped this week at more than 200 restaurants and pubs in Ontario and Québec. It’s a traditional pilsner, with regional characteristics of those brewed in the northern part of Germany.

Less mellow or “soft” than some Pils, this 4.9% lager delivers pleasantly snappy, bracing hop character with each sip. It pours a pale straw colour, with great clarity and a billowy white foam. The aroma is herbal and hoppy, with some grainy malty notes. A refreshing hop bite dominates the flavour, counterbalanced by clean malt sweetness and a dry finish.

Farm Table: Pils is the third beer release for feBREWary, the month-long winter craft beer celebration conceived by Beau’s Brewery. Now in its fifth year, the event has attracted more and more participating restaurants and pubs each year. “It’s a great program that illuminates the diversity of beers Beau’s has to offer,” says Johnny Wolanski, assistant manager of feBREWary participant The Ossington, in Toronto. “It speaks to the strengths of the brewery: their passion for beer, and exposing people to new experiences. And the artwork is second to none!” he adds.

In addition to the 200+ locations serving it up on draught, limited quantities of Farm Table: Pils (North German Style Pilsner) will be available for purchase in 600 ml bottles in the Vankleek Hill brewery retail shop (as well as select corner stores and supermarkets in Québec), beginning Feb. 18. The brewery will again host several busloads of visitors from Ottawa and Montréal this weekend to celebrate the beer’s release.

FeBREWary 2016 is Beau’s All Natural’s 5th annual month-long beer event designed to “Give Old Man Winter a kick in the snowpants.” Next week’s feBREWary release is Elephant Monsoon “PB & Grape” Porter: a dark, malty ale with a fun, flavourful twist courtesy of organic peanut butter and Concord grapes. A full list of participating feBREWary restaurants in Ontario and Québec and details on all the feBREWary beers are available online at www.beaus.ca/feBREWary.
