Joining the Beau’s core line-up is Wag the Wolf (5% ABV, certified organic), a modern mash-up of two beer styles, a classic German wheat ale and a bold American I.P.A. It is brewed with a substantial ratio of organic wheat to barley malts, as well as two organic hop varieties: Motueka and Rakau. It pours hazy with white foam. There is a burst of citrus with lemon and grapefruit on the nose, along with banana notes.The flavour is similarly fruity, with additional hints of papaya, peach and mild peppery notes. The bitterness is firm but not overwhelming. It has lively carbonation and a bright and balanced finish. It serves well alongside more delicate dishes such as whitefish, as well as complementary lemon and pepper flavours. |
