Patio Saison

Saison • 5.9% • Wild Oats No. 19

Patio Saison is a snappy and crisp unfiltered golden ale. The characteristic saison beer style offers up mild pepper-and-clove spice, in harmony with the citrusy zest of  orange peel and the floral aroma of elder flower.

History & Style

Saisons originated in the Wallonia region of Belgium, where traditionally it was brewed to slake the thirst of farmhands during harvest time. Beau’s Patio Saison was first served up to celebrate the sunny spring day that patios across Ontario opened up in 2012.

Tasting Notes

Dry and refreshing, with fruity character coming from both the fermentation and the addition of dried orange peel. The complexity is enhanced with the characteristic Belgian yeast spiciness and mild earthy undertones.

Food Pairings

La Vache Qui Rit cheese; rye bread; polish sausage; chicken braised in beer with spaetzli; washed rind Abbey-style cheeses (think Oka).
