Cali Common

Farm Table Series • 5.0% • Farm Table Series

Cali Common is a gem of an amber lager that was invented (Eureka!) in the Golden State – in fact, it is one of only two classic beer styles that were created and first brewed in North America. Like crashing surf alongside the mighty mountains of its namesake state, this hybrid beer is an un-common combination: a medium-bodied, malty ale with the dry crispness of a lager.

History & Style:

Beau’s Farm Table Series beers are brewed true to classic or emerging styles. The Cali Common beer style first came to be during the late 1800s, in the U.S. State of California. Its employs a quirky lager yeast that brewers discovered had the ability to ferment at warmer temperatures, like an ale. The label art is a vintage look and feel, designed to evoke some classic California dreamin’: check out those wrap-around shades, surf boards and palm trees!

Tasting Notes:

Cali Common pours deep copper with a white foam. The aroma is fruity and herbal. The flavour is clean and malty with balanced medium bitterness. The finish is dry and crisp.

Food Pairings:

Avocado and grapefruit salad with lime and chili vinaigrette, spiced crab cakes with cilantro aioli, tamarind black bean burritos, Feta or asiago cheeses, churros with chili chocolate.
