Our Purchasing Policy
We’re proud to be environmental stewards and leaders in sustainable craft brewing at Beau’s, and it’s our goal to brew our beer to the highest standards of quality. As such, our purchasing policy favours local suppliers, those with good environmental track records, and those who treat their employees fairly and with respect.
Through our Ethical Sourcing Guarantee, we aim to support and improve our local economy and reduce our environmental impact. At Beau’s, we’re committed to giving preference to goods and services provided by local and independent businesses. We also prefer suppliers that use low impact transport.
At the same time, however, we acknowledge that certain goods may have limited local availability, requiring us to look outside the local community. Additionally, some suppliers with higher social and environmental standards may take precedence over local ones, and we may choose suppliers in poor and vulnerable areas in order to effect positive change.
Supplier Code of Conduct
We require our suppliers to meet the principles of our Supplier Code of Conduct in order to ensure that they provide safe working conditions; that workers are treated fairly and with dignity; and that manufacturing processes are environmentally responsible.
At Beau’s, we use Social Accountability International’s SA8000, an auditable social certification standards document, to hold our suppliers accountable. Examples of these standards include (but are not limited to): health and safety, discrimination policy, child labour policy, working hours policy, & remuneration policy.
