Mission Accomplished (American IPA) aged in Sauvignon Blanc barrels for 2 months.

When we brewed our all-star American Style IPA, Mission Accomplished, for the 2014 Best of Beau’s 4-pack, we smuggled a portion of it away for a stealth mission: a two-month assignment in Sauvignon Blanc barrels. The fruity character from the lingering wine in the oak barrels is an enjoyable complement to the citrusy, tropical hop character of Mission Accomplished. The beer pours hazy yellow with white foam. The aroma is tropical (pineapple), wine-like, oaky and slightly piney. The flavour is fruity and citrusy, offering firm tannin and bitterness. The finish lingers, with hops and woody notes. Beau’s brewmaster Matthew O’Hara recommends a serving temperature of 5-8 C… in your exclusive Greener Futures member glass, of course!
