History & Style
A boat-load of extra hops (a natural preservative) made India Pale Ales (I.P.A.s) historically better suited for long voyages when shipping to British soldiers stationed afar, including India. Their distinct taste caught on, and now these ales are widely known and enjoyed for their aggressively hopped aromas and flavours.
Embittermint I.P.A. pours a hazy yellow with white foam. The aroma is a combination of orangey citrus and muddled mint (think mortar and pestle and mojito). This beer is medium-bodied with an explosion of julep-y orange flavour that is offset by cool mint. The finish is long lasting and refreshing.
Roast leg of lamb with mint sauce; chicken tikka masala with minted raita; pasta tossed with cheese curds, cream & mint & basil pesto; grilled New York steak with paloise sauce (minted Béarnaise); aged gouda cheese or raw milk 3-year-old cheddar.
