Bogfather

Imperial Gruit • 8.0% • Wild Oats No. 08

The Bogfather is a monstrously strong and hopped-up version of our Bog Water gruit ale. Intense flavours and aromatics are achieved through the alchemy of dark malts and Belgian yeast. The hand-harvested organic bog myrtle it’s brewed with contributes a sweet aroma, bitterness, and herbal, spicy notes.

History & Style

Beau’s first brewed The Bogfather imperial gruit in 2011, as a limited run of 1,000 bottles available only from the brewery. The whole lot sold out in 2 weeks, and a fan-favourite was born. The Bogfather made a return in 2013 by popular demand, as part of Beau’s inaugural feBREWary celebrations. And like any respectable monster, it just keeps coming back…

Expect four limited-edition imperial-strength gruits each year from Beau’s, to complement the Gruit Series. These amped up recipes are based on the other gruits in the series, but are intensified versions that have bolder flavours and higher alcohol strength.
