Blood Simple

Blood Orange Witbier • 5.3% • Wild Oats

Juice from organic Moro blood oranges and peel from organic California oranges add intense colour and pithy fruitiness to this hazy Belgian-style witbier. Tart and fruity, refreshing and juicy, it’s like sipping sunshine in a glass!

History & Style

The roots of witbier (white beer) can be traced to the 14th century, originating in the monasteries of the Louvain area in Brussels, when brewing with hops had not yet become the norm. Rather, witbiers were the product of locally grown wheat, barley and oats, as well as herbs and spices. Witbiers are characteristically unfiltered, citrusy and spiced, but have adapted over the years to accommodate contemporary tastes. The Blood Simple label artwork was created to be aesthetically clean and typography driven, with colours similar to those of a blood orange.
