Beau’s “Koru” Belgian-style pale ale pops up for spring

Tropical hop flavours of mango, papaya, pineapple and grapefruit meet characteristic Belgian-style pepper and spice in this complex Pale Ale

(VANKLEEK HILL – Mar. 3, 2016) The spring Wild Oats Series release from Beau’s Brewery will become available Thursday, March 3 in Ontario and Québec. Koru Belgian-style Pale Ale is the fifth and final beer release of Beau’s feBREWary winter craft beer event, which has been celebrated all month long at more than 200 partner restaurant and pubs, as well as at the brewery in Vankleek Hill.

Deep gold in colour, Koru is a medium-bodied Belgian-style pale ale brewed with organic Nelson-Sauvin and Rakau hops from New Zealand. The aroma combines tropical fruit with citrusy notes such as candied orange. Peppery and fruity flavours are suggestive of mango, papaya, pineapple, and grapefruit. The finish is dry, with lingering spice.

Beau’s first created Koru in 2012, as one of their annual Oktoberfest creations. The name of the beer comes from the Māori word for loop, and is a coiled spiral shape based on the unfurling of a new fern frond. For a beer brewed with a noticeable accent of New Zealand hops, the name and image are well suited to this spring Wild Oats release from the local craft brewery.

Koru will be tapped this week at participating feBREWary restaurants and pubs, and will also be made available in in Beau’s signature 600 ml bottles – both at LCBOs across Ontario beginning this week for a two-month spring feature, as well as select grocery and corner stores in Québec. Koru will also be available direct from the brewery, and for home delivery in Ottawa through BYBO (Buy Your Beau’s Online – www.bybo.ca).
